Public reviews of Dental Intelligence
We read 53 Software Advice reviews of Dental Intelligence, from January 2020 to December 2025, and the app-store texts that were on the page. Quotes are copied from those pages. This is not a test of the AI receptionist.
Checked 23 October 2026 · 60 written reviews read · How we verify
This week's subject is Dental Intelligence. It already has a tool page, and it is named in the front-desk hub. A hands-on test had not been run, so this page is only public reviews.
On 23 October 2026 we read the Software Advice reviews page for Dental Intelligence, including page 2 and page 3. The page says 53 results. We read 53 written reviews there: 25 on the first page, 25 on the second (one of those has no month line on Software Advice), and 3 on the third. Capterra's reviews page for the same product shows those reviews again, with a day on the date. We did not count Capterra as a second set of 53.
The Software Advice dates run from January 2020 to December 2025. Capterra dates the review that has no month line on Software Advice as 30 January 2021, and it dates the December 2025 review as 16 December 2025.
These reviews are about Dental Intelligence as practice analytics and patient communication, including forms, texting, recall, and the morning huddle. Several of them are about Modento. The listing files those under Dental Intelligence. None of the 53 uses the words AI receptionist. The case on this site that names Dental Intelligence is about an AI receptionist add-on, set beside Mango Voice Margo. This page does not add a result to that case.
The same day we also read the written reviews shown on the Google Play and US App Store listings for the Dental Intelligence app. Google Play says 7 reviews and shows 3 of them. We read those 3 and did not see the other 4. The App Store says 35 ratings and shows 4 written reviews. We read those 4. Ratings are not the same thing as written reviews, so the 35 are not part of the 60.
The 60 is those texts: 53 on Software Advice, 3 on Google Play, and 4 on the App Store. Reviewer names are not repeated here.
What comes up more than once
Pros
- Practice numbers in one place. Reviewers who like the product talk about analytics, goals, and the morning huddle, and about not having to pull the same reports inside the practice management system.
- Recall, forms, and texting. Reviews mention a recall list, paperless check-in, and two-way text. One review calls the recall list the receptionist's favorite part.
- Support, in a lot of the positive reviews. Many of those reviews say the software vendor invited the reviewer and offered a nominal incentive. The page also labels other reviews as submitted organically, with no incentive. Both labels are quoted below when a quote comes from one of them.
Cons
- Numbers that update the next day. More than one review says the figures refresh overnight, or about 24 hours later, rather than as the day goes on. That includes the morning huddle.
- Price. One organic review from November 2024 says it was a little too much for a small practice. Other reviews call it expensive and still say the product was worth it to them. This page does not turn any of those comments into a price.
- Contracts, cancellation, and billing. A 1-star review dated December 2025, which the page says was organic, is about billing and a contract. A July 2023 review says the company kept charging the card after the office tried to cancel.
- Day-to-day gaps in one organic 2-star review from October 2025: insurance eligibility for many companies, starting a new text, payments posting to the head of household, and email changes that have to be made in Dentrix.
- Analytics and patient engagement as separate products. One review dislikes the separate platforms. Another says there are two logins, one for admin and one for analytics.
- The phone app, which is a different complaint from the web product. The three Google Play texts on the listing, from June, July, and August 2025, say the app got worse after Modento and Dental Intelligence were put in one app: slow or not working, login trouble, and a schedule that will not look ahead. The four App Store texts on the listing, dated on the page from 05/26/2022 to 11/02/2025, are about login, Face ID still asking for a password, notifications that do not open, and having to open several tabs to see the schedule.
Quotes

The analytics portion was my favorite part about it.
I also didn’t like that there were separate platforms for analytics and then like patient engagement.
Two logins for the admin vs analytics.
Love how all analytics are in one place and the system integrates with our practice management system.
Lastly, being the receptionist, I love the recall feature!!
A little too much for our small practice
The only complaint I have is that it only refreshes over night.
I wish that this software would do real-time updates.
I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Dental Intelligence, primarily due to a complete lack of responsiveness and unresolved billing issues.
The contract provided to me has a blank renewal period, yet I’m being told it is valid and enforceable.
Nothing in our agreement says we can’t cancel before the term ends and yet they continue charging our card.
The insurance eligibility does not work on very many company's so we would have to call the insurance even though we pay to have insurance eligibility.
To text a patient you can't create a new chat you would have to create a whole new person in dentrix or wait for an updated phone number which would take a while.
Everyone at my office loves modento.
Having more options with voicemail integration or automated phone integration would be a great steap into the future.
The app and platform has gone downhill since they changed it a couple months ago. Modento and Dental Intel were combined into one app. Now neither work well.
The app was great before to see schedules in advance, but since the update when everything is now in one app, there's no looking ahead.
It’s incredibly frustrating when logging into the app and you’ve set up the Face ID, but it still has you enter in your user name and password!!
This app is inefficient and disfunctional.
I don’t like that I need to click on multiple tabs to see the full schedule.

What we did not use
- G2's Dental Intelligence reviews URL returned no review text on 23 October 2026, so G2 is not quoted and its rating is not used.
- A public search did not find a Trustpilot profile for this product. A direct request to Trustpilot was blocked from this network, so Trustpilot was not read.
- Reddit returned a block page. Those threads were not read and are not quoted.
- A public search did not turn up a Dentaltown thread for this product that we could open.
- Google Play states 7 reviews. Only 3 review texts were on the listing we read. The other 4 are not in the 60.
- The App Store states 35 ratings. We read the 4 written reviews on the listing, not 35 reviews.
- No reviewer's name is published. A sentence that names a support person is left out even when the rest of that review is real.
