How we find and verify case studies
Every case on this site describes something a dental office actually did with AI, with links to where we found it. Here is how we pick, check and label them.
Where cases come from
- First-hand reports from dentists and office staff, mostly in public forums such as r/Dentistry and r/Dentists. When a forum blocks reading without a login, we read the posts through a public archive and say so.
- Case studies published by vendors, when they name a real practice and give numbers.
- Dental trade press, podcasts and conference write-ups.
- Cases that dental teams send us through the submission form.
How every case is checked
- Every number, name, date and quote comes from a source we read, and each result links to it.
- A second, independent check re-opens every source before publication. Anything that cannot be confirmed is removed.
- Numbers published by a vendor are written as the vendor's claims ("Arini reports…"), never as facts.
- Each case has a "What didn't go well?" section, including contradictions in the sources themselves.
- Conflicts of interest are stated up front, for example when an author later built a competing product.
- We write in our own words, with at most one short quote per case, and we do not publish forum usernames.
- The "prompt to try" on each case is written by us, not by the practice, and never asks for patient details.
Source labels
- Practitioner report: Written by a dentist or office team member about their own experience.
- Vendor-reported: Results published by the company that sells the tool. Treated as claims, not facts.
- Builder report: An agency or developer describing what they built for a practice.
- Mixed: Combines a vendor's published results with first-hand reports from practices.
Sponsorship
Sponsors can pay for a site-wide banner, a line in the newsletter or a sponsored case study. Sponsored content is labeled "Advertisement" above the headline. Sponsors do not see or edit independent cases before they are published, and never receive subscriber emails.
Corrections
If something in a case is wrong or out of date, tell us through the submission form. We re-check the sources and update the "Last checked" date on the case.
